IGF-1 is a polypeptide protein hormone similar in molecular structure to insulin. It plays an important role in childhood growth and continues to have anabolic effects in adults. It consists of 70 amino acids in a single chain with three intramolecular disulfide bridges. It has a molecular weight of 7649 daltons. It is produced primarily by the liver as an endocrine hormone as well as target tissues in a paracrine/autocrine fashion.

| IGF-BP3 (1 supplier)
IGF-BP3 is a stabilizer that provides a constant level of serum IGF. It is a growth hormone (GH) dependent protein, there for the assessment of IGF BP3 is quite useful in the evaluation of growth hormone secretion. IGF BP3 assay may be used to evaluate children with normal GH levels.

Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is the study of signals in a digital representation and the processing methods of these signals. The subfields of signal processing are Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Analog Digital Processing(ASP). DSP includes subfields like audio and speech signal processing, sonar and radar signal processing, sensor array processing, spectral estimation, statistical signal processing, digital image processing, signal processing for communications, biomedical signal processing and seismic data processing. Since the goal of DSP is usually to measure or filter continuous real-world analog signals, the first step is usually to convert the signal from an analog to a digital form, by using an analog to digital converter. Often, the required output signal is another analog output signal, which requires a digital to analog converter. DSP algorithms have long been run on standard computers, on specialized processors called digital signal processors (DSPs), or on purpose-built hardware such as application-specific integrated circuit (ASICs). Today there are additional technologies used for digital signal processing including more powerful general purpose microprocessors, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), digital signal controllers mostly for industrial apps such as motor control and stream processors.

Image capture system consists of an electronic camera having a detector and a lens that has a field of view which is adapted to limit the radiation incident upon the detector to that within the field of view. It has an actuator for moving the field of view across the document, a control means for controlling the actuator to move the camera across the document so as to obtain a set of overlapping sub-images corresponding to different areas of the document. An electronic processing means adapted to receive the set of sub-images produced by the camera and to process the sub-images to form a composite image of the portion of the document covered by the set of sub-images.
