Dermoscope is a battery-operated handheld microscope-like instrument using epiluminescence for evaluating pigmented skin lesions. It is a non-invasive, diagnostic tool, which visualizes subtle clinical patterns of skin lesions and subsurface skin structures not normally visible to the unaided eye. It has also been called a skin surface microscope, epiluminescence microscope or episcope.

Hair Removal Device is widely used to remove the unwanted hair from the skin. It is classified into two types namely laser hair remover and non laser hair remover depending on the designing technique. In laser hair removal device the laser emits an invisible light which penetrates the skin without damaging it and is absorbed by the pigments of the pilous follicle. The laser light selectively absorbed by the follicle damages its functions and impairs its ability to fabricate hair. IPL systems work on the principles as lasers in that light energy is absorbed into particular target cells with color (chromophores) in the skin. The light energy is converted to heat energy, which causes damage to the specific target area. IPL systems are different to lasers in that they deliver many wavelengths (or colors) in each pulse of light instead of just one wavelength. Most IPL systems use filters to refine the energy output for the treatment of certain areas. This enhances penetration without using excessive energy levels and enables targeting of specific chromophores and is considered a non-ablative resurfacing technique, which means that it targets the lower layers of skin (dermis) without affecting the top layers of skin. The IPL therapy is a minimal downtime and a patient can often have the procedure done and return to work immediately afterwards.

It effectively treat the lesions by confining their energy to the melanosomes, which are the tiny granules containing melanin inside the pigment cells. The results of laser treatment depend on the depth of the melanin and the colour of the lesion and are to some degree unpredictable. The superficially located pigment is treated with shorter wavelength lasers while removal of deeper pigment requires longer wavelength lasers that penetrate to greater tissue depths.

The procedure also offers more control in the depth of penetration of the skin's surface, allowing an increased degree of precision and safety in treating delicate areas. In laser skin resurfacing a laser is used to remove areas of damaged or wrinkled skin, layer by layer. The procedure is most commonly used to minimize the appearance of fine lines, especially around the mouth and the eyes.It is also effective in treating facial scars or areas of uneven pigmentation. Laser resurfacing may be performed on the whole face or in specific regions. Often, the procedure is done in conjunction with another cosmetic operation, such as a facelift or eyelid surgery.
