Profile: Ceremed, Inc. develops products based on polymer technology. We provide Ostene® and it is a soluble bone hemostasis implant material, an alternative to bone wax made of beeswax. This reduces the risk of complications in cardiac surgery including sternal bone infection, mediastinitis, and sternal non-union. Ostene controls the bleeding from bone surfaces by acting as a mechanical barrier. It is a sterile mixture of water-soluble alkylene oxide copolymer, derived from ethylene oxide and propylene oxide. We also develop BioPor® implant, porous polymer material and coatings for orthopedic implants based on polymer technology.
